Samsung introduces CHG90, new 49-inch super ultrawide gaming monitor
On Friday Samsung introduced a new monitor category - super ultrawide - and also the first monitor in in, the CHG90. And ultrawide it is, super ultrawide, as you can see on the pictures.
Its aspect ratio is 32:9. Just to give you an idea - the normal monitors have 16:9 aspect ratio and monitors in the ultrawide category 21:9. The resolution of the monitor is 3840*1080 which is pretty much double HD.
CHG90 super ultrawide monitor is curved, if it wasn't you'd need to turn your head left and right all the time as it's really, really wide.
The viewing angle of CHG90 is 178 degrees.
For gamers this monitor actually gives an advantage as using this monitor you can see areas gamers on 16:9 monitors can't see. For example you could try playing Battlefield 1 on this monitor and see the difference yourself.
The monitor can be used as one screen, or you could easily split in half and use one half of it for playing and the other half for work. For example.
The CHG90 super ultrawide monitor uses VA LCD ultrafast panel with a one millisecond response time. Refresh rate of the monitor is 144 hertz and it has better color accuracy than regular LCD monitors..
The monitor is already available for preordering and it costs $1500.
